Mooihoek Strawberry Farm
Mooihoek Farm is a family-run 3rd generation farm located in Hankey within the picturesque Gamtoos Valley of the Eastern Cape (80km from the Gateway City of Port Elizabeth). The farm is managed by Madelé and Johan Ferreira along with an enthusiastic team of leaders.
Our motto is “we grow the taste of excellence” and we achieve this daily by applying strict and precise farming systems to ensure a superior quality product again and again. We adhere to Global Gap as well as FSA standards.
PICK-YOUR-OWN
Visitors to Mooihoek Strawberry Farm can come and pick their own fresh strawberries during the summer holiday.
NO booking is required but we recommended that you book if your group is larger than 15 people.
Simply purchase a tub from the Farm Stall and head off to the designated strawberry picking fields where all the fun happens. Please note that only persons who purchase a tub are allowed in the picking fields (Children under 4 are allowed to share a tub).
Please,remember your face masks. No mask no entry.

Take the Hankey Turnoff from the N2 Highway.
(R331 from Port Elizabeth or R330 from Humansdorp)
Drive for approximately 24km (17 minutes) until you reach a 4 way stop with the SPAR visible on your right side. Follow the road towards Patensie.
You may notice Hankey schools to your left and right just before the Brown Mooihoek Strawberry Icon signpost on your left.
Also look out for a big green signpost for Backhousehoek, Milton and Vensterhoek.
Turn left and carry on for another 5 minutes following the Strawberry Icon signs.
Park your vehicle in the designated parking area.
